Traversing between the conscious and unconscious, I gather
materials or objects to take into my studio. I then
contemplate the item’s function, meaning within society,
life, and how those things relate to theories I may be
thinking about at the time.
Phenomenology, physiology, and the emotional relationships
our body has with objects are areas of research that help
inform my practice and deepen my thinking. From a scientific
point of view, I am studying how something outside the body
can cause internal sensations that lead to cognition and
result in action or belief.
Through a reciprocal relationship with materials and an
acute sensitivity to my own internal world, my art is
created.
